New workshops for Homeschool students:
Take Learning Center Stage
at the
Renaissance School Performance Space

Come one Friday each month from 9am- noon to engage in a morning of active learning in Arts Integration. Study theater, dance, music, and art from teachers at the Renaissance School while deepening understanding in social studies content areas. Make learning come alive for your children and join others in this community building learning opportunity! (ages 6-12)
Friday March 20th: Native American Life & the Pow Wow
Learn the eagle dance and its significance, experience the power of the drum, and paint festival shawls. Take part in a Pow Wow, a rich Native American tradition.
Friday, April 3rd : Africa: Dance Your Way to Ghana
Paint mud cloths that will be worn to celebrate an African Dance Circle, learn African drum rhythms and ceremonial dances, and play games and songs from Ghana. Learn how call and response has become part of the American tradition.
Friday, May 8th : Travel with Music Through the Underground Railroad
Learn about the people and events of the Underground Railroad first hand by learning the music that was used by slaves to escape the South. Engage in theater techniques that will help student experience some of the issues of the period, and create story quilts that tell your story!
