A Joyful Renaissance School Winter Performance

two_pilgrims.jpgThe students of The Renaissance School in Shelburne presented a wonderful evening of “Celebrations Around The World” for their families and friends on December 15 in the gymnasium at the Shelburne Town Offices.

The evening’s songs, dances, costumes and artwork reflected the gifts of diversity in The Renaissance School community, as well as various traditional celebrations from across the globe. The audience was treated to African tribal masks and rhythms, the First Thanksgiving in America, a spectacular Chinese New Year parade with a glittering dragon, a rollicking Canadian Le Temp de Fetes, and a festive Mexican La Posada.

The colorful artwork was created by the school children during their art classes with Laura Poirier, and Nowa Crosby, guest conductor, directed the school’s five piece ensemble.
