The Renaissance School children and families gathered Friday December 16th for the school’s annual holiday performance at the Shelburne Town Gymnasium.  This year they presented an adaptation of “The Mitten Tree” by Candace Christiansen. Each class sang and danced in celebration of the gift of mittens made by the story's heroine, Aunt Sarah, for children who waited for the school bus and had no mittens to keep them warm.  The theme of giving and sharing was woven throughout the evening.  The performance was brought to an emotional conclusion with the song “We Are The World” sung by the entire school community for which they received a standing ovation.
