On St. Patrick’s Day, the classes at Heartworks Burlington received a special gift of music.  Merrick Hard, a professional bagpipe player and parent to a child at Heartworks, visited the school to play his pipes for the children and teach the children about this fascinating instrument.  Merrick, dressed in a traditional kilt, played many Irish songs and traditional favorites for a captive audience gathered on the playground.  The children had a wonderful time listening to the pipes and were very happy to participate in a parade around the playground, led by Merrick on the pipes.  The music, demonstration and parade made for a perfect St. Patrick’s Day celebration.  Thank you to Merrick!
