Heartworks Burlington 2012 Student Art Show
The Burlington Heartworks School community gathered together on a beautiful Friday evening at Shelburne Commons to enjoy an amazing exhibit of student artwork from all of the classes of two through five year old children. The annual springtime art show is a highlight of the year for many, providing a wonderful opportunity to visit with the other school families, while admiring the artistic talents of their own children as well as the work of all of the children from Heartworks.
The children were so happy to show their artwork to friends and family members, and were delighted to share details about how each piece was created in the classroom under the guidance of their creative Heartworks teachers. The exhibit included wooden “Trojan Horse” sculptures, softly illuminated decoupage tissue vases, black and white photography, mosaic clay pottery, and many impressive paint and collage pieces suitable for framing.
Many of the projects were designed to complement thematic studies within the rich and varied Heartworks curriculum. Students and teachers alike enjoy the enrichment activity times within the daily rhythm of our school day which allows for such artistic and creative learning, and we are certain that these works of art will be treasured for many years to come.
