The Renaissance School Walk-a-thon

group-1_6.jpgOn Monday, May 7th, members of The Renaissance School community gathered at Shelburne Farms for the annual Walk-a-thon.  Each year, children collect pledges from their communities to donate to Heifer International.  This year, Renaissance students raised over $1200.  Heifer International is an organization that works with communities around the world to provide training and assistance to help hunger and poverty.  On the designated day, children, families, faculty and staff walk from the Farm Barn to the Coach Barn and back again.

picnic-snack-1.jpgThe weather was perfect for this year's walk-a-thon.  Under a warm and sunny sky, the children, joined by many family members and friends, walked through the rolling hills and woods of Shelburne Farms.  Upon arriving at the Coach Barn, the walkers stopped for a picnic snack on the grass by the seawall, playing some games together on the grass before heading back to complete another successful walk-a-thon.
