The Renaissance School 4th Annual Student Art Show, Picnic and Auction
The Renaissance School community came together for their annual celebration of the art program at the school along with a picnic dinner with auction for families and friends.
The sounds of laughter, conversation and exciting auction results filled the air in the beautiful sun-filled green at Shelburne Commons as the school held it’s Fourth Annual “Create and Celebrate” event. Inside the school’s large performance space, students, friends and family were treated to an exhibit of hundreds of pieces of student artwork, including a large and colorful full-scale jungle scene inspired by the exotic artwork of French Post-Impressionist painter Henri Rousseau. The art show also showcased the wonderful variety of artistic styles offered by the school’s art teacher, Laura Poirier, throughout the year with her students.
Auction items included special one-on-one activities with the school staff, summer camps and stitched and painted original works of art. New to the fundraising raffle offerings this year were the addition of highly sought after class-themed, hand-painted, Adirondack chairs designed and painted by the teachers and students.
The annual event is hosted by the school’s very active parent group, The Friends of The Renaissance School, who provide support and special funding for enrichment activities and programs at the school.
