A Taste of Greece

Chris Totaro (or Soula her Greek name) visited the Pre-kindergarten class while they are learning about Greek Mythology. She brought in an old ceramic lamp that uses oil and a wick and showed the children how to use it. She also brought a tile with a picture of a fisherman repairing his fishing net in an old Greek village. While telling the Greek Myth about why the peacock's tail has spots or "eyes" the children were able to touch a peacock feather. The children also were able to see traditional Greek dolls with the national costumes of Greece. They enjoyed listening and dancing to traditional Greek music. They also enjoyed some Koulouraki (little braids) traditional semi sweet butter cookies.
