On Wednesday, October 15th, friends of Marie's brought their cider press to the courtyard. Each class had the opportunity to watch the apples be made into mush by a kitchen disposal that had been built into a table. Once the apples were mushed, the children watched as the apples were put into the press. Each child had an opportunity to turn the press and watch as the cider flowed into a pan. As a school, we pressed 2 gallons of cider! We had the cider at snack time.
